Three-time European champions Manchester United are reportedly plotting a multi-million pounds move for one of the best players in the French top flight this season.

This is according to the latest reports from the British media.

Manchester United are expected to bolster their squad on the attacking front this summer and Lyon hitman Moussa Dembele could be the man for the job.

Moussa Dembele has been one of the best players in the French Ligue 1. He has scored 22 goals plus seven assists in 42 appearances in all competitions for Lyon this term.

Lyon would be hoping to count on Moussa Dembele as they try to finish the job against Italian Serie A leaders Juventus in the last 16 of the Champions League.

The French giants beat Juventus 1-0 at home in the first leg of their last 16 tie with Lucas Tousart getting the only goal of the game ahead of the second leg in Turin next week.

The Lyon midfielder scored the only goal of the game in the first half of the encounter.

According to The Sun, Manchester United will try to sign Moussa Dembele in the summer.

Manchester United tried to sign the 23-year-old striker during the January transfer window only to meet a brickwall in Lyon who were adamant that their star striker is not for sale despite the arrival of fellow forward Karl Toko-Ekambi from Villarreal from the Spanish La Liga.

The Red Devils are ready to pay £60m for the French junior international but Lyon values him at £90m.

Manchester United already signed a short-term striker in Odion Ighalo last January. The ex-Super Eagles of Nigeria was signed on loan for six months until this summer and he has been a revelation of some sort since his transfer to Old Trafford.

Ighalo has scored three goals in two Manchester United starts only.
