Paris Saint Germain (PSG) striker Edinson Cavani has been left out of the squad to play Lille in their French Ligue 1 clash on Sunday evening to further cast doubts over his future with the French champions.

The Uruguayan international has been linked with three clubs mainly in the transfer window this month as he has his eyes set on a move away from the French club this season.

Edinson Cavani has six months on his PSG contract but he wants to leave in this January transfer window rather than wait for a free transfer move this summer.

PSG manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed that he won’t feature in his squad for the away game at Lille in the league despite training with the team in the last few days.

According to the ex-Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund boss, the reason for the exclusion of Edinson Cavani from his squad is due to the doubts over his future at the Parc des Princes.

Cavani was the subject of a €10m bid from Atletico Madrid some days ago as confirmed by sporting director Leonardo.

The player wants to leave the club in this January window but PSG officials are reluctant to let him leave.
