Portuguese Super League giants Sporting Lisbon are confident of a deal with Manchester United for their star player, Bruno Fernandes.

This is according to Goal which revealed that Manchester United have just 11 days to agree a transfer fee with Sporting Lisbon for Portuguese international star Bruno Fernandes.

The Red Devils initiated negotiations with Sporting Lisbon two weeks ago after the injuries to the midfield duo of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay.

Both Pogba and McTominay are not expected back in the Manchester United squad until next month after respective ankle and knee problems.

Paul Pogba and his young midfield counterpart Scott McTominay both sustained the injury in the same game, the Boxing Day clash at home to Newcastle United which ended in a 4-1 victory for the Red Devils.

Manchester United had offered Sporting Lisbon around £60m for Bruno Fernandes which includes add-ons covering clauses like winning the Ballon d’Or and it was rejected by the Portuguese according to the above mentioned publication.

Sporting Lisbon made a counter offer of a straight deal of £68m and they are confident of agreeing a deal with the Premier League club for their best player amidst financial troubles.
