Napoli star Dries Mertens is the latest player to be linked with a move to West London side Chelsea as manager Frank Lampard looks to beef up his team on the attacking side.

Dries Mertens is unlikely to move away from Napoli in the current transfer window but a summer exit is almost a certainty.

He has six months left on his Napoli contract at the moment and the Italians are not expected to offer him a new deal.

Dries Mertens will leave Napoli this summer as things stand and he has been touted as a possible signing for both Chelsea and Inter Milan.

The 33-year-old Belgian international player could start to negotiate a free transfer move with foreign clubs since he has six months left on his current deal.

Dries Mertens has been a wonderful servant for his Italian Serie A club and he’s one of the highest goalscorers in the history of the Italians alongside the likes of Diego Armando Maradona and Marek Hamsik.

He has scored 118 goals and also provided 71 assists in 302 appearances.

He has not always been the first choice this season but the Belgian attacker has still managed to score nine goals plus four assists in 22 games in all competitions.
