Chelsea have decided to reward young defender Reece James with a new contract after the series of impressive performances from him in the colours of the West Londoners this season.
He has been in good form since returning from a hugely successful loan deal at Wigan Athletic in the English Championship.
Recce James returned to Chelsea from his Wigan Athletic loan spell last summer and he has gone to make 17 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.
The 20-year-old right-back was named the Young Player of the Year in the English Championship last season.

Reece James is seen as the long-term replacement for club legend Cesar Azpilicueta at Chelsea who have given him a new five-year deal until 2024 that will see his wages increase significantly.
The Blues player attracted the interest of both German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and Premier League giants Manchester United in the summer after his good performances for Wigan Athletic last season.
He has a contract that runs until 2022 but that was signed as a teenager with small weekly wages and the new deal will reflect his standing as a first team player.
Reece James and Chelsea are on course to finish in the top four at the end of this league season.
