The father of EPL star, Shkodran Mustafi has given a major hint on what the future holds for his son at Arsenal with his contract running down at the Emirates Stadium.
Shkodran Mustafi has gone down the pecking order at the North London outfit and might not find playing time. The best option available to him is to leave the club with his contract set to expire.
The defender was linked with an exit from the Gunners in the past transfer window as he enters his fifth campaign with the North Londoners.
It is reported that manager Mikel Arteta still wants the German international in his squad and talks were expected to take place between the two parties. Kujtim Mustafi said the lack of progress in contract talks should not necessarily be regarded as a bad thing.
Speaking to Sport1, Kujtim said: “Nothing is wrong, we can imagine everything because Shkodran is available on a free transfer in the summer.”

Mustafi has only made two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season which speaks well of his space in the team.
The coming of Gabriel Magalhaes from French Ligue 1 outfit, Lille in the last summer transfer window, and the resurgence of Rob Holding will make it difficult for Shkodran Mustafi to find playing time, except for injury crisis.
The Brazilian international has nailed his place in Mikel Arteta’s team with his commanding performance. He scored a goal on his debut against Fulham in the season’s opener and went ahead to win the Player of the Month award for September.
However, Shkodran Mustafi is attracting interest from German Bundesliga outfits and that would be his likely destination.
Meanwhile, Arsenal might have found a replacement for Shkodran Mustafi with the presence of France international youngster William Saliba who is yet to be ready for the challenge according to manager Mikel Arteta.
