Liverpool legend John Barnes has affirmed that Arsenal is now a stronger team with the recruitment of Thomas Partey in their team, adding that he will help them to find the right balance.

The Ghanaian international joined the North London outfit in the summer transfer deadline day from Spanish la Liga outfit Atletico Madrid after his release clause of £45 million was activated. His first game for the club got everyone talking and the Liverpool legend also has his voice to lend.

After watching the North London outfit lose against Leicester City, John Barnes is not losing any faith in Mikel Arteta’s side as he expressed confidence that the new signing will help find a balance in the team and help going forward.

The Liverpool legend added that with the former Atletico Madrid midfielder, Arsenal defence will be well shielded as well as the transition from the back to attack.

He said that Arsenal are currently being affected by the strange season with everything going on, citing the Liverpool 7-2 defeat to Aston Villa as one of the effects of the new normal but he is confident that all teams will soon be settled.

John Barnes hailed the Arsenal team for having a good structure process under the Spanish boss as it helps them to look better than they were two seasons ago. The top-four target is a possibility for Arsenal according to the Reds legend.

However, John Barnes argued that the North London outfit have not been scoring goals but that does not mean they do not have good attackers but they are only trying to settle well in the season and will soon get back to their best.

The burden of Arsenal’s goal drought lies on the shoulders of Gabon international forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and he has been backed by manager Mikel Arteta to start scoring again.
