Arsenal manager is increasingly becoming frustrated by talks of William Saliba not playing since the start of the season and he is set to take a major action to avoid more of the pressure.
The France international defender has only made two matchday squad since he joined the club this season from Saint Etienne in the summer but yet to be handed his debut.
The Spanish boss has come under attack from the press and William Saliba’s former manager for refusing to play the player, especially leaving him out of the Europa League squad for the season.

When asked by journalists, Mikel Arteta said “I’m fed up with the situation because, as you could see, we tried to find a way in the last five days to give him some football. I explained that he needed that transition year when we decided to buy him and send him out on loan to Saint Etienne. For many reasons, that didn’t happen – he didn’t have the transition year and he needs to go through that.”
Arteta added that he has enough central defenders in his team and that is why he left the young defender out of his squad which is regretted but with the injury situation in the team, he could still be used.
However, Mikel Arteta reveals that the club will have to sit with the player to know what it is going forward but noted that it will depend on the player and the situation of the team.
William Saliba was tipped to pair with Gabriel Magalhaes at the back but that is yet to happen while the Brazilian has already established himself in the team to become one of the most important players in Mikel Arteta’s team. He has scored a goal and won the Player of the Month award so far this season.
