English Premier League outfit Bayern Munich have been tipped to win the race for defender David Alaba from German Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich in the January transfer window.

The focus for the Reds team in the January window will be a defender as they lack options for one. Virgil Van Dijk and Fabinho are currently injured which makes it necessary for the team to bring in a cover.

There is a green light from the Bayern Munich star over a move as he is believed to be prepared to leave Germany after spending his entire career with the Bundesliga giants. He has proven to be a top defender that can fit into the level expected in Liverpool.

The Austria defender is not keen to sign a new deal with the Bundesliga giants as he enters his last six months of his contract at the beginning of 2021 which means he would have to leave for the club to be able to cash in from his sale.

He will be free to sign a pre-contract with any club from January as well, and the Reds team are considering the option of bringing him to serve as a cover. He also has the quality and experience to partner Virgil Van Dijk when he returns next season.

Football insider reports that Bayern Munich are not willing to take the chance and will let go of David Alaba in the Jaunty winter window to any of his suitors.

English Premier Legate duo Man United and Chelsea have also shown interest in the signature of David Alaba as they are also in need of a defender while Italian Serie A outfit Juventus is willing to give them a fight.

Meanwhile, manager Jurgen Klopp will have to make do with Rhys Williams as a cover for his defence in subsequent games before the return of Fabinho or the signing of David Alaba should manager Jurgen Klopp insist.
