English Premier League title holders Liverpool are now battling with the injury of Virgil Van Dijk and may have to find a replacement in the summer transfer window.

Virgil Van Dijk had a collision with Jordan Pickford in the Merseyside derby game against Everton and will undergo knee surgery. This situation leaves the Reds team will a limited option for the centre-back position.

With every possibility that manager Jurgen Klopp will be forced to look out for options in the January transfer window, Man United target, Dayot Upamecano might be the only viable option.

The RB Leipzig defender has been on the radar of the Red Devils since the last summer transfer window and it was thought that they will make a move for him but with the latest development on Liverpool’s interest, Dayot Upamecano now has more options to choose from.

Daily Star reports that manager Jurgen Klopp is already considering a move for the 21-year-old and will look to beat Man United in his chase.

This leaves Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in a difficult situation as he is now desperate to make some impressions, especially by winning the title and that will only be made possible if he is able to get most of his targets, starting from the coming January winter transfer window.
