The signing of highly rated German international attacker Kai Havertz at Chelsea may have helped London rivals Arsenal to sign top target this summer.
The Blues made another major statement in the transfer market by splashing a club-record fee on Kai Havertz who’s widely regarded as one of the best young prospects in the world.
Chelsea paid an initial fee of £72m for Havertz but it could extend to the £90m mark based on add-ons. He signed from German Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen to become the seventh summer signing at Stamford Bridge.

His transfer could play a big role in Arsenal’s bid to sign top target, Thomas Partey. The player turned down a new contract offer at Atletico Madrid in favour of holding out for an Arsenal transfer.
Atletico Madrid have repeatedly told the Gunners that they must pay the €50m in Partey’s contract at the club before the transfer can be sanctioned. To this effect, Arsenal are in search of funds to complete his transfer.
The Gunners are looking to sell some players to raise funds and Spanish right-back Hector Bellerin could be one of those players with Bayer Leverkusen and French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) keen to sign him.
