Man United are reportedly in search of a new centre-back to form a solid partnership with Harry Maguire and that has been very difficult.
Recently, it is rumoured that they plan to hijack Arsenal’s bid for Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes but they seem to be too late as the North London club are reported to be ahead and could wrap up the deal before the end of next week.
However, Man United are believed to be ready to rival the Gunners in their bid for RB Leipzig defamer Dayot Upamecano as Arsenal are known to be the most prominent suitors for the 21-year-old for the past 12 months.

With the Gunners set to wrap up a deal for the Brazilian international from Lille, Man United will stand a better chance to land Dayot Upamecano as he is believed to be the best fit for the missing quality in the Red Devils defence.
Man United have therefore been that Dayot Upamecano will be available for £50 million especially as he just signed a new contract with the club this season.
The Red Devils have been told to move in for more defenders to avoid the mistake made by Man City in the just-concluded season.
