Arsenal Eyeing £40m Move For Bundesliga Defender

Premier League giants Arsenal are eyeing a cut-price deal for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano according to the latest reports in the British media.
Dayot Upamecano has been a transfer target for the Gunners for the last six months dating back to the summer.
The specific report from The Sun claimed that Arsenal are ready to offer £40m for the young French defender.
RB Leipzig rejected a bid for the defender from Arsenal in the summer with the German Bundesliga outfit holding out for the £88m release clause in his contract at the club.

Arsenal want to sign the center-back in a cut-price deal since he has 18 months left on his RB Leipzig deal at the moment.
The Gunners were not able to lure him away from his German Bundesliga club in the summer and they ended up signing David Luiz from London rivals Chelsea on the deadline day of the Premier League transfer window.
David Luiz moved from Chelsea to Arsenal in a deal reported to be around £8m on a two-year deal until the end of the 2020/21 season.
He has already scored one goal for Arsenal in his eight appearances for the North Londoners since his move in August.
