Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is leaving no stone unturned as he is keen to bring in a new central defender to the Emirates Stadium this summer transfer window.
The North London outfit have been in the race for the signature of Gabriel Magalhaes alongside Napoli and it is now claimed that the Italian Serie A outfit are trying to outsmart the Gunners by offering him a juicy weekly wage.
Both Arsenal and Napoli have already had an agreement with the French Ligue 1 outfit, Lille and are only waiting for the player’s decision to complete the move as Man United are also reported to have joined the race.

However, Mikel Arteta is not ready to take any chances as he is already monitoring other options and ready to make a move immediately it is confirmed he will not be getting Gabriel Magalhaes.
Goal reports that the former Man City assistant manager is monitoring French youngster Malang Sarr, 21, who is a free agent after leaving Nice.
It is also reported that Mikel Arteta wanted to land 22-year-old French starlet Axel Disasi but he completed a move from Reims to Monaco for £12m earlier this month.
The Spaniard, 38, seeks a left-footed central defender and he is hoping to get that in Gabriel Magalhaes.
