Kalidou Koulibaly

The latest report has claimed that the English Premier League outfit, Man United will reignite their interest in Italian Serie A outfit, Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, and submit a bid for him this summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have been following Kalidou Koulibalysince Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho was in charge at the Old Trafford but are yet to have a breakthrough in the chase.

Kalidou Kouliably’s fee has been the issue over time and it is set to be settled with Napoli president stating that the defender will be allowed to leave the club for the right amount.

This development, therefore, means that Red Devils will pay the sum of £80 million to meet with the valuation of Napoli for him.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to boost his team with new legs in this summer transfer window and one of his focuses is the defensive department which he seeks to reinforce.

The Red Devils will have to finalize the deal for their primary target, Jadon Sancho from German Bundesliga outfit, Borussia Dortmund before facing other deals.

Man United have been delayed on the negotiation table for the England international winger as they are unwilling to pay £100 million.

The last few games have not gone as planned for Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta as they suffered defeats against Man City and Leicester City but there could be more to boast of the Spanish manager.

The season looked hopeful for the North London outfit when it first started but it is no longer the same with the current circumstance of losing two successive defeats in the Premier League. The only compensation is that the Gunners recorded a win in their first Europa League game last Thursday.

Aside from the results from Mikel Arteta’s team, Dundalk boss Filippo Giovagnilo has stated that the Spanish boss remains an inspiration to him, noting his commitment to his footballing principles.

Filippo Giovagnilo stated that despite being a young coach, the former Man City assistant manager has been able to build a team that can confidently build up his defence in the box against a team like Liverpool without panic.

“Arteta is an unbelievable coach. I really like him. He is young and he has tried to apply his football principles the best he can. Can you imagine he was building up his defence in his box against Liverpool without panic? They never kicked the ball long”

“This is fantastic, things like that, and it really inspires me, I like this kind of coach who is not afraid of nothing. They want to get the result but through their football principles. This is amazing”

Having to inspire a coach like himself is a big achievement for Mikel Arteta at age 38 and it is safe to state that it is just the beginning of his managerial career with the potential he has shown.

Mikel Arteta has had few months as Arsenal manager and can boast of a Community Shield title and an FA Cup title. He is in the process of rebuilding the Arsenal team with the target of getting back to the Champions League with a top-four qualification.

Predicted Chelsea line-up against FC Krasnodar

English Premier League outfit Chelsea will resume their Champions League campaign against Russia outfit, FC Krasnodar on Wednesday evening, and what is most important for manager Frank Lampard in the game is securing a win after recording two successive draws.

It would be recalled that the Blues’ Champions League opener of the season ended in a goalless draw against Spanish La Liga outfit Sevilla last week and they failed again to find the back of the net in the Premier League clash against Man United as the game also ended in a goalless draw at the Old Trafford.

The West London outfit have been rated ahead of the Russan side for a win and more to it is the fact that their Wednesday opponent has been plagued with injuries and might not have their full squad to compete in the game. This adds to the fact that the Blues team will be playing at the Stamford Bridge.

We definitely expect Frank Lampard to make some changes from the weekend game in order to get his team going, especially in goal scoring and also avoiding to concede goals.

After playing a three-man defence against Chelsea and not conceding a goal and recording the second clean sheet, Frank Lampard could ring some changes in his formation to a 4-2-3-1 against FC Krasnodar.

As expected, Edouard Mendy will keep his number one spot after convincing with a god performance against Man United while Hakim Ziyech could be in line for his first full debut at Chelsea. Kai Havertz and Timo Wener could be rested as they are yet to make their mark.

See full predicted XI against FC Krasnodar
Edouard Mendy, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Zouma, James, Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, Hakim Ziyech, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, Tammy Abraham.

A win against the Russian club will lift the Blues team and relieve manager Frank Lampard off the pressure on him.

Belgium international Jeremy Doku has revealed that he snubbed a move to Liverpool and Newcastle United after he was approached by the English Premier League duo for a move to French Ligue 1 outfit Rennes.

Jeremy Doku who spoke to RTL boasted of his decision as he claims that joining the French Ligue 1 outfit was the best decision for his career because of the need for him to develop and have more playing time at a top-level.

The 18-year-old is one player that has been hailed and described as “diamond in the rough” by Man City star Kevin De Bruyne. After watching Jeremy Doku mark his second appearance for Belgium national team with a superb goal in the 5-1 win against Iceland, the Premier League gaffer could not hide his admiration for the wonderkid.

Jeremy Doku is only 18 years old but he left Anderlecht to the French Ligue 1 outfit for a £25 million fee to make him one of the most expensive teenagers in the game. His move to Rennes also means he will be playing in the Champions League and his value could further increase.

Liverpool saw the talent in Jeremy Doku and wanted to make a move for him alongside Newcastle United but he was more concerned about his development and playing time than a move to the Premier League.
“I choose Rennes because it was the best project that presented itself to me.

“Ligue 1 is a higher league (than in Belgium). We play in the Champions League too. I have to take new steps. More will be expected with my new club, that’s for sure, but it’s up to me to prove my talent” he said

Manager Jurgen Klopp has sees Jeremy Doku as the new Sadio Mane but he cannot promise the youngster a regular first-team football at Anfield with the talents at the club.
