Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is on the wanted list of Championship side Bristol for a managerial role ahead of the coming season.

The Championship side parted ways with their former manager Lee Johnson since last weekend and are considering a number of options to help the team especially after an inconsistent season.

The Express reports that amongst the list already compiled, the Robins are more interested in the choice of the former Liverpool midfielder.

It is believed that his presence at the club will help motivate the players and serve as an inspiration for them to do more, owing to his history and achievements in the game.

Steven Gerrard is still the manager at Scottish club Rangers and it is unknown if he will be willing to dump them to return to England.

Suggestions are that the Reds legend will be dreaming of managing an EPL side in the nearest future and this opportunity could be the starting point as he looks to emulate the likes of Frank Lampard, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mikel Arteta of Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal respectively.

All these managers are of the same age grade and played together as either teammates or opponents in their active career.
