Is Manchester United Prospect Angel Gomes Right To Want Summer Exit?

Angel Gomes

Young Manchester United attacker Angel Gomes was the best prospect at the club for several years until the last 12 months when the likes of Mason Greenwood and Brandon Williams overshadowed him mainly because of their positive impact in the first team. A major reason for this is his contract standoff with the club which has indirectly impacted on his playing time in the first team under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He has made a solitary start in seven months plus the attacker was the only travelling player left out of the 18-man squad that secured the 5-0 away win over LASK Linz in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie in Austria.

All the Manchester United prospects in and around the first team have signed a new deal in the last 18 months except Angel Gomes who has represented the England youth teams. Red Devils prospects Mason Greenwood, Dylan Levitt, Tahith Chong, Ethan Laird, Brandon Williams, and James Garner have all committed their long-term futures to the Old Trafford club.

As per the report via the Manchester Evening News, Angel Gomes is not convinced that his long-term lies at Manchester United. This position prompted him to reject the offer of a new deal from the club.

The 19-year-old is in search of more first team football and he thinks Manchester United can’t offer him what he wants at the moment. Angel Gomes Is also unhappy that Manchester United has decided to pursue a transfer for players in his age bracket with these footballers potentially blocking his path to a regular berth in the first team. The Red Devils are keen to sign young players like Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham, Jack Grealish and others.

Angel Gomes Is not short of suitors as his future at Old Trafford remains in serious doubts. Barcelona, Chelsea and Inter Milan are all interested in a free transfer move for the player this summer which leads to the question of first team football at these clubs.

The English junior international might not be able to secure regular first team football just like what’s obtainable at Manchester United. For now, he is still a Manchester United player but the clock of his potential exit is ticking.

Houssem Aouar

Reports in France have hinted that French Ligue 1 outfit Lyon will be forced to lower their fee for Houssem Aouar to be able to join Arsenal this summer transfer window.

Houssem Aouar is a major target for the North London outfit this summer window but they have since parked at the negotiation point with no headway as Lyon are insisting on £54 million.

While Mikel Arteta has continued to express confidence that a deal would still happen before the end of the summer transfer window, RMC Sport reports that the Gunners have made an initial £32 million for the midfielder but that was rejected.

An attempt to add France international Matteo Guendouzi in the deal also failed as they claimed they were not interested in the midfielder.

However, Get French Football News tweeted that Lyon will soften their stance on Houssem Aouar and accept a lower fee, including a bonus proposal.

Howbeit, it is understood that the midfielder is keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium and he is reported to have agreed on personal terms with the club with nine days left to the end of the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been told that they do not have to make another move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey who is also a target if they are able to secure the signature of Houssem Aouar.

EPL: How true is Ray Parlour’s talk about Dele Ali

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has linked Tottenham to Arsenal, stating that Dele Ali could be an important one for the North London club if they make an attempt for him.

He made this claim on a talkSport show amidst reports that Dele Ali has fallen out of favour with Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho and he might be forced to leave the club.

The speculation of Dele Ali’s rift with the former Man United boss was fuelled by the fact that he was left out of the recent matchday squads, a development that would not have happened ordinarily.

However, the Arsenal legend claims the player could be an addition for the Gunners if the chances to sign him present it, explaining that the Mikel Arteta tea lack goals from the centre-midfield, and Dele Ali would ensure that if he joins the club.

Ray Parlour added that the Tottenham man could be available for £50 million and that could be the issue for the Gunners to meet.

Although Arsenal have not registered an interest in the England international with Mikel Arteta not reported to be eyeing him this development would also lead to buying that idea.

What is unknown is if Dele Ali will truly fit into Arsenal’s style and will add some qualities to the team as claimed by Ray Parlour.

The supposed goalkeeping issues in Man United are yet to be settled as Sergio Romero is reportedly pushing for a move out of the Old Trafford in this summer transfer window.

Sergio Romero could boast of a second place at the Old Trafford in the last campaign but that immediately changed when Dean Henderson returned from his loan spell with Sheffield. He is now being relegated to the third choice, a development he is not satisfied with.

The Times reports that Sergio Romero is keen on leaving Man United this season as he is already being linked with a move to Everton. The report claims that efforts are already underway to bring the 33-year-old to Goodison Park.

The report adds that Everton are in contact with his intermediaries and the possibility of a deal is being discussed for him to be a backup to Jordan Pickford.

Should Sergio Romero leave Man United this summer window, they will be forced to have him replaced as they will not be satisfied working with two goalkeepers throughout the season.

Meanwhile, David De Gea remains the first choice goalkeeper under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season but the door for competition has been opened between them.

Inter Milan to snap up Chris Smalling deal

Chris Smalling

There have been delays by Italian Serie A outfit AS Roma in sealing the deal for Man United defender Chris Smalling because of the price tag insisted by the Red Devils.

Inter Milan are reportedly making moves to take advantage of the financial situation of AS Roma to snap up the deal before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils are insisting on £18 million for the defender and AS Roma are not willing to meet that fee which makes it difficult for a deal to happen.

It is understood that Tottenham could snap up Inter Milan definers, Milan Skriniar and Diego Godin and that will force them to move out for their replacement with Chris Smalling being considered.

Having watched the 30-year-old perform at Rome during his loan spell, Inter Milan are seriously considering Chris Smalling if they fail to sign Milenkovic, their main target, according to Corriere.

However, the Mail reports that Chris Smalling is desperate to move to Rome and has been pleading with Man United chiefs to come down on the fee to have him leave the club.

Meanwhile, it is not the wish of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to release Chris Smalling as he is yet to buy a new centre-back.

EPL: Man United slammed over this one move

Jadon Sancho

English Premier League club Man United have continued to insist on the signature of German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho but they have been unable to win it.

The Red Devils have been told by Borussia Dortmund that they will not be releasing the England international winger for any fee less than £100 million which Man United cannot pay.

Now it is claimed that the Red Devils are making the last move by preparing an offer of £90 million which might also be rejected by the Bundesliga outfit.

Jamie Carragher has, therefore, slammed the Red Devils for insisting on a player that will not make them win the Premier League, stressing that meeting Jadon Sancho’s valuation feels like reversing the culture of overpaying.

According to him, Jadon Sancho is a good player but not worth the £100 million tag that has been placed on him. He noted that his coming will have a big negative impact on younger players like Mason Greenwood this season.

Jamie Carragher claims that even the Red Devils know that the Man City academy product does not worth that fee and that is the reason why they have not met the asking price for the past weeks.

EPL: 44-goal striker claims to be open to Man United move

Raul Jimenez

English Premier League outfit Man United are one of the few teams that have registered their interest in Wolves striker Raul Jimenez but have not been able to step forward with an offer.

Wolves have always insisted that they will not be parting ways with their prized asset but anytime soon but that is not the wish of the Mexican who has a bigger dream than what the club can afford.

The Premier League might be a difficult one but Raul Jimenez can boast of 44 goals with a team as Wolves in 99 appearances in his first two seasons. That is enough feat to earn him the attention he is receiving in the league and that seems to continue as he has started on a flying note this new season by registering goals in their games against Sheffield United and Man City.

While admitting that he has three more seasons left with Wolves, the 29-year-old opens the door to any change that could happen. He noted that he had played in the Champions League for his former team Benfica but he is keen to play regularly again.

This is not too much for a player at that level to ask for and Man United can take the bold step to give him that opportunity amidst interest from Juventus.

Jorginho

English Premier League outfit Arsenal have been recently linked with Chelsea star Jorginho as they are finding it difficult to agree on a deal with Atletico Madrid for Thomas Partey.

The Chelsea man has been tipped to be an alternative in the Gunners’’ search for a midfielder as the player is reportedly out of favour at the Stanford Bridge with the Blues boss making moves to bring in another midfielder.

Jorginho was earlier tipped to join Italian Serie A outfit Juventus but the chances of that happening again is now very slim with the sack of Italian boss Maurizio Sarri.

However, it is reported that Arsenal’s chances of signing Jorginho are dependent on Frank Lampard‘s ability to snap up the signature of West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.

It is understood that Frank Lampard is making another last push to bring in the player. West Ham United have insisted that they will not sell the player this transfer window.

However, the opportunity to sign up Jorginho awaits the North London club if Chelsea are able to sign Declan Rice but that might not happen again should Arsenal secure the signature of Houssem Aouar.

Houssem Aouar has made it clear he wants to join Arsenal and the latest reports have claimed that Lyon could soften their stance on him.

Paul Pogba

The speculation of the exit of France international from Man United is unending with every transfer window that passes by but it is unknown when he will actually bid goodbye to the club.

Since joining the Red Devils, Paul Pogba has been involved in one controversies or the other which has unsettled him at the club. He has been linked with a move back to Juventus in previous transfer windows as well as a move to Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid after declaring love for Zinedine Zidane.

Now that it looks like he is getting settled at the club, the coming of Donny van de Beek, who plays a similar position as Paul Pogba is now stirring some speculations with claims that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer cannot play the Frenchman alongside Bruno Fernandes and the Dutchman all in one game.

Jamie Carragher in his column on Telegraph claims Paul Pogba is ow entering a point in his contract where the Red Devils need to make a decision on either to sell him or to keep him.

According to him, the Red Devils look to keep him but the option and unpopular opinion of selling him could arise if they get a tempting pay from his sale.

The former player is of the opinion that Paul Pogba has not given enough to the club despite the big financial investment on him since he joined.
