New Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has hinted that the Gunners could explore the January transfer window to boost the playing squad at the club amidst the numerous injury problems in his team.
Mikel Arteta has targeted central defenders in the January transfer window which opened officially on Wednesday.
The need for defenders became more important after Calum Chambers suffered a knee injury during the last league game, a London Derby outing at home to Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
Calum Chambers is now expected to miss the rest of the season as a result of the injury sustained against Chelsea.

He has been the best centre back at Arsenal this season ahead of the likes of summer signing David Luiz, Sokratis Papasthathopoulos and Shkrodan Mustafi.
Arteta and Arsenal are after RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano who is highly rated in European football as well as Brazilian defensive midfielder Bruno Guimares who has shone for Atletico Paranense FC of Brazil this season.
Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has also been linked with the Gunners with recent reports claiming that a loan move would be fantastic for all the parties involved.
