Premier League giants Manchester United are increasingly confident that they will sign highly-rated Red Bull Salzburg player Erling Haaland in the January transfer window according to the report from the Daily Mail.
It was revealed that Manchester United are keen to use the advantage of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager to win the race to sign the in-demand Norwegian international player.
Solskjaer was his former manager at Norwegian club Molde as they spent around 18 months together with the top flight outfit before the Manchester United legend returned to take the manager’s job on a temporary basis in December.

Manchester United went on to confirm his appointment in March 2019 after impressing a great deal as their temporary manager.
Solskjaer succeeded Jose Mourinho as the Manchester United manager after the Portuguese tactician was booted out of the role after a poor start to last season.
On his own part, Erling Haaland left Molde just a month after the departure of Solskjaer as he secured a move to Red Bull Salzburg in January.
The Red Bull Salzburg star has been in sensational form for the Austrians since joining them and that has attracted clubs like Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and RB Leipzig to his signature.
Solskjaer is close to his family and friends and that could give Manchester United an edge.
