New Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is getting used to life as a manager following his new role as confirmed by the North London club last week Friday.

Mikel Arteta was named the new Arsenal manager some days ago and he has signed a contract for three-and-a-half years until the summer of 2023.

The Spaniard has already begun work earnestly as the Gunners boss and that includes identifying the players to strengthen his team in January.

According to The Metro, Mikel Arteta wants to sign three players to bolster the Arsenal squad for the challenges ahead in the second half of this season.

It was revealed that the former Arsenal midfielder wants two centre backs and one defensive midfielder.

The Gunners have already been linked with Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly who is said to be available for just £55m.

RB Leipzig’s French defender Dayot Upamecano is also a top transfer target for the North London club.

Arsenal signed centre backs David Luiz and William Saliba to solve their defensive issues in the summer but the problem has not been solved.

Davis Luiz has not had the best of starts to his Arsenal career following his £8m transfer from London rivals Chelsea, while young Frenchman Saliba won’t return to Arsenal from Saint Etienne FC of France until next summer when he finishes his loan spell.
