Three-time European champions Manchester United have contacted Napoli over a possible transfer for their defender Kalidou Koulibaly according to journalist Ian McGarry who told Reach plc’s Transfer Window Podcast.
Manchester United are long-term admirers of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly who is available for just £55m as revealed by the Daily Express.
The Red Devils are worried about the form of their central defenders including world-record signing Harry Maguire and that has propelled club officials to make contact with Napoli again.
England international Harry Maguire became the most expensive defender in world football after Manchester United spent £80m to sign him from Leicester City in the summer.

Kalidou Koulibaly has already told Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis that he wants to leave the club after the dismissal of Carlo Ancelotti according to the aforementioned publication from the Daily Express.
It was stated that Koulibaly had a very good relationship with Carlo Ancelotti who has now been appointed as the new Everton manager after signing a contract that runs until 2024.
