Liverpool are the first team in action this weekend amongst the Premier League title challengers and they have the opportunity to stretch their lead at the summit with a win over bottom club Watford.

The Reds can extend their lead to 11 points on the league table with victory over the Hornets pending the time that nearest challengers Leicester City will play hosts to Norwich City at the King Power Stadium later on Saturday evening.

Liverpool face hapless Watford at home on Saturday lunchtime in the Premier League in what would be a baptismal of fire for the new Horrnets manager Nigel Pearson who will take charge of his first game at the club since his appointment last week.

Watford have a big challenge on their hands as they face Liverpool with the target of securing their second win of the season.

Ex-Leicester City and Derby County manager Nigel Pearson is saddled with the responsibility of becoming only the second manager to take points off Liverpool in the Premier League this season after Manchester United.

Liverpool XI vs Watford (4-3-3): Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil Van Dijk, Andy Robertson; Georginio Wijnaldum, James Milner, Jordan Henderson; Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
