Chelsea manager Frank Lampard will certainly learn a lot about his players during this period of games without victory ahead of the Premier League clash with league newcomers Aston Villa.
Chelsea are without a win in their last three games in all competitions including defeats in each of the last two league games and new manager Frank Lampard would be hoping to lead his team back to the glory path against a stubborn Aston Villa who were able to secure a 2-2 draw in their last league game at Manchester United at the weekend.
Chelsea won six league games in a row before they came unstuck at Premier League champions Manchester City via a 2-1 defeat.
That defeat was followed by the 1-1 draw away to Valencia in the Champions League before the 1-0 loss to West Ham United at home at the weekend.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard rested the likes of N’Golo Kante and Willian for the West Ham United game on Saturday though the two players came off the bench and were unable to affect the result positively.
The two players will be restored into the starting lineup for the Villa game as well as leading goalscorer Tammy Abraham who’s expected to make his return from the injury that ruled him out of action at the weekend.
Probable Chelsea XI vs Aston Villa (4-3-3): Kepa Arrizabalaga; Reece James, Fikayo Tomori, Kurt Zouma, Emerson Palmieri; N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount; Willian, Tammy Abraham, and Christian Pulisic.
