How Chelsea Miss Out On Second Place With Poor West Ham Result

West London giants Chelsea missed out on a big opportunity in the Premier League following the result recorded during their league encounter with West Ham United.

West Ham United were guests of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening and they were able to leave West London with all the three points following the slim victory recorded.

Chelsea missed out on a big opportunity to go joint second on the Premier League as a result of the defeat.

A win over the Hammers would have made that possible.

West Ham United got the only goal of the game through English left-back Aaron Cresswell.

It was his third league goal of the season and that strike was enough to hand West Ham United all the three points at stake.

West Ham United scored a second goal midway through the second half through Michail Antonio who led the line for his team before VAR technology ruled it out for handball in the buildup to that strike from the former Nottingham Forest star.

Chelsea struggled to create chances but were unable to take the few ones that came their way with Christian Pulisic culpable.

The Blues stay on 26 points in fourth position when a win over West Ham would have taken them joint second alongside Premier League champions Manchester City and Leicester City (29 points).
