The Barcelona duo of Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi were on target for their respective countries during the international friendly clash between Argentina and Uruguay.

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez scored for Uruguay, while club skipper Lionel Messi found the back of the net for two-time world champions Argentina.

Paris Saint Germain (PSG) striker Edinson Cavani finished off a flowing move involving Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira and the aforementioned Suarez as the Uruguay and took a first-half lead during the game played in Israel.

Argentina equalized in the 63rd minute through Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero off a free-kick from Lionel Messi.

Uruguay regained the lead five minutes later courtesy the well-taken free-kick from Luis Suarez.

The Uruguayans held on to that advantage until the dying moments of the game when defender Martin Caceres was penalized for handball in the box.

Lionel Messi stepped up to slot home the equalizer for Argentina in added time thereby rescuing his team from defeat.

It was his second goal for Argentina in two games since his return to the team after his lengthy ban.

Messi was given a three-month ban after calling out South American (CONMEBOL) officials for their bias towards Brazil during the COPA America tournament hosted by the Brazilians this summer.
