Premier League giants Manchester United are considering a possible move for Juventus midfielder Emre Can ahead of the resumption of the transfer window next year.

This is according to the latest reports coming out of the media in the United Kingdom.

Manchester United are expected to boost their squad in the New Year after their poor start to the new Premier League season.

The specific report from Sky Sports said that Manchester United want to sign Emre Can during the winter transfer window in two months time.

Emre Can was on the payroll of Premier League leaders Liverpool for four years before he left the club for Italian Serie A giants Juventus at the end of last season.

The German international midfielder joined Liverpool from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2014.

He left Liverpool after his contract with the Merseyside giants ended.

Emre Can signed for Juventus on a free transfer last summer.

He was a regular part of the first team under the managerial reign of Maximiliano Allegri but his situation has changed since the Italian manager was replaced by compatriot Maurizio Sarri at Juventus.

Emre Can is surplus to requirements in the Juventus midfield under Sarri.
