Liverpool midfielder James Milner has opened contract talks with the reigning European champions according to the publication from the stables of popular media outlet Metro.
James Milner has some months left on his current deal at Liverpool.
The English midfielder is seen as an important squad member by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and the player could be given a rolling 12-month contract.
Liverpool have to make a move as fast as possible to tie James Milner to a new deal since the 33-year-old can start to speak with foreign clubs as from January 2020 when he has six months left on his present contract.

James Milner has been a wonderful servant for Liverpool since joining them from Premier League champions Manchester City on a free transfer in the summer of 2015.
Since his transfer, Milner has made 181 appearances in the red colors of Liverpool.
He made 31 competitive starts for Liverpool last season as the Reds ended the campaign with the Champions League title via the 2-0 over Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in their final clash.
The Champions League title was the first trophy won by James Milner at Liverpool before the Merseyside club added the UEFA Super Cup title earlier this season.
