Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri is in line for a new contract at the club according to the publication from the stables of the Daily Mail.
It was revealed that Chelsea want to reward the Italian international left-back with a new deal to ward off the interest of Italian clubs.
Emerson was strongly linked with a return to Italy before the just concluded summer transfer window.
The Brazilian-born Italian national team player was linked with Serie A champions Juventus where he could have linked up with Maurizio Sarri.
Emerson played under Sarri at Chelsea last season before the Italian tactician left the club for Juventus this summer.
The Italian left-back joined Chelsea from AS Roma FC of Italy in January 2018.
He signed for the Blues while Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte was the manager at Stamford Bridge.
Emerson Palmieri didn’t get much playing time at the club when he joined at first due to Spanish defender Marcos Alonso.
His situation didn’t change much when Sarri replaced sacked Conte as the Chelsea manager in July 2018.
Emerson was, however, able to usurp Marcos Alonso towards the end of the one-year Chelsea tenure of Maurizio Sarri.
He has since fully established himself in the starting XI.
