Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has slammed flop signing Fred for his display during the Europa League clash at the home of Dutch Eredivisie outfit AZ Alkmaar.
Owen criticised the performance of the Brazilian midfielder while he was doing his punditry job on BT Sports.
Fred had a game to forget mainly due to his poor distribution in midfield against AZ Alkmaar.
The Brazilian international has been anonymous since joining Manchester United from Ukrainian side Shakthar Donetsk last summer.

Manchester United paid 52 million pounds to sign him thus making him the fifth most expensive player in the history of the club behind the likes of Argentine international Angel Di Maria, Romelu Lukaku, Harry Maguire and Paul Pogba.
As witnessed during the Europa League encounter with AZ Alkmaar who are the third best team in the top flight in the Netherlands, Fred has not been able to live up to his price tag at the Theatre of Dreams since his transfer at the start of last season.
He was one of the poorest players on the pitch during the Europa League clash between AZ Alkmaar and Manchester United and was rightfully criticised by former club striker Michael Owen.
