Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has left the door open for star midfielder Christian Eriksen to leave the club this summer.

The Argentine tactician talked about Christian Eriksen during his pre-match press conference ahead of the mammoth league clash at the home of champions, Manchester City.

Premier League champions Manchester City will host Mauricio Pochettino and his Tottenham Hotspur players at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening in what’s one of the week’s second game of the new season.

Christian Eriksen has one year left on his current contract at Tottenham and he has been linked with a move away from the club since this summer’s transfer window started.

Premier League giants Manchester United were seriously linked with the player but the Red Devils can’t sign him again this summer after the English top flight window closed last week Thursday.

Apart from Manchester United, Spanish clubs Madrid and Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest in the Danish international playmaker but none of the two La Liga giants have made a bid for him.

The Madrid clubs still have two weeks to sign him this summer.

Christian Eriksen was dropped for the opening Premier League game with Aston Villa at home and he came off the substitute bench to help Spurs overturn a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 win.
