Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes that the Red Devils should have signed Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen before the Premier League transfer window ended on Thursday.

The Manchester United legend talked about his former club and transfers on Premier League Breakfast as he wondered why ex-Manchester United teammate and club manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer didn’t push for the signing of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The Danish international has one year left on his current deal with Tottenham Hotspur and he has previously talked about the need to leave the North Londoners for a new challenge this summer.

The Premier League transfer window has ended but Christian Eriksen could still move to the other leagues.

He has been attracting interest from Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid.

Christian Eriksen has been at Tottenham Hotspur since the summer of 2013 when he joined from Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam.

He was a key player for Tottenham Hotspur as they reached the Champions League final last season.

It was their first appearance in the Champions League final and it ended in defeat for both Christian Eriksen and Spurs following the 2-0 defeat at the hands of Premier League rivals Liverpool in Madrid.
