Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has been left devastated after his exit from the club was blocked on the last day of the Premier League transfer window.

According to Sportsmail, the Argentine international star has been left angered by the strange decision from senior Manchester United officials.

He was being lined up for a loan move to fellow Premier League side Everton before Manchester United heightened the stakes, leading to the collapse of the deal.

Everton had hoped they would sign Marcos Rojo on loan for the new season but that hope was dashed at the last minute.

The Toffees sent young defender Matty Pennington to English Championship club Hull City, while Mohamed Besic left the club to join fellow Premier League side Sheffield United.

Marcos Rojo has made 18 appearances for Manchester United in the last two seasons.

The arrival of Harry Maguire from Leicester City has pushed Marcos Rojo further down the centre back pecking order at the Theatre of Dreams.

Marcos Rojo is a utility player that can also play as a left-back.

Harry Maguire is the most expensive defender in the history of Manchester United after the England international player joined the club from Leicester City for £80m.
