English Premier League side Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi could be on his way back to the Anfield as he is set to be recalled back from his loan spell at Gent this winter transfer window.

Taiwo Awoniyi is reported to be unhappy at the Gent following the arrival of their new manager Jess Thorup in October according to the Daily Mail.

It seems Gent are already looking to offload the Nigerian international as they have now secured the signature of Alexander Sorloth from English Premier League side Crystal Palace.

Taiwo Awoniyi signed a new deal with the Merseyside club in the last summer that will ensure him as a Red Player until 202 which means he could be further sent on another loan spell as he is not ready yet for first team football at Anfield.

However, Liverpool still wants the 23-year-old to gain more playing experience elsewhere at a high level club in Europe so that he can as well secure a work permit that will have him return for first team football.

Taiwo Awoniyi is highly valued by the Reds team especially after his eye-catching performance at the World Youth Championship with the Nigerian U17 national team some years back.
