Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has predicted where his former club will finish at the end of the new Premier League season.
Zola was an assistant manager at Chelsea while Maurizio Sarri was still the Blues manager until this summer when they both left the club.
Sarri left Chelsea for Italian champions Juventus this summer and Zola followed suit after the ex-Italian international striker rejected a role under the new Blues management of Frank Lampard.
Gianfranco Zola talked about where Chelsea will finish at the end of the season under Frank Lampard while he was on popular TV channel BeIN Sports.
According to him, Chelsea will be in the race to finish in the Champions League places which is guaranteed by ending the season in the top four.
Gianfranco Zola also added that his former club will drop two places further back to fifth position at the end of the season.
Maurizio Sarri and Gianfranco Zola led Chelsea to third place at the end of the last campaign as the West London giants returned to Europe’s premier club competition after a one-year absence.
Chelsea start their Premier League campaign this season with an away game at Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.
