Former Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has signed a three-year deal with Premier League outfit Watford ahead of the new season.

His transfer was confirmed earlier on Wednesday via the official Twitter handle of the Hornets.

Danny Welbeck was a free agent before he signed for Watford on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old had been training with Javi Gracias and his players before his transfer was confirmed officially.

Danny Welbeck has joined Watford on a free transfer.

The former Manchester United striker was a free agent after his release from Arsenal at the end of last season.

The English international is recuperating from the serious ankle injury he sustained in November.

Danny Welbeck sustained the ankle injury during the game between Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon.

It was a Europa League clash played at the Emirates Stadium.

Danny Welbeck spent an injury-hit five years at Arsenal following his transfer from Premier League rivals Manchester United in the summer of 2014.

The Manchester United trainee left the Red Devils after he was deemed surplus to requirements by then manager Louis Van Gaal.

His contract at Watford includes performance-related bonuses.

Welbeck is the fourth summer signing at Watford after utility defender Craig Dawson, Dele Tom-Bashiru and Sam Dalby.
