Former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer has backed Liverpool for the Premier League title.
In a chat with The Sun, Alan Shearer revealed that the Premier League title will be a two-way horse race between Liverpool and Manchester City before adding that the Reds will pip their rivals to the title.
Alan Shearer established himself as a Premier League legend after he scored 260 goals in the competition.
The Premier League legend played for two clubs namely Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United.
No player, past or present, has scored more goals than Alan Shearer in the history of the competition.
He feels that Liverpool will win the Premier League title ahead of Manchester City who have won it for the last two seasons.
Manchester City secured their second successful league title during the last campaign as they finished one point ahead of Liverpool.
The Citizens won their last 14 games of the season to amassed 98 points from 38 league games ahead of Liverpool who had 97 points.
