New Southampton signing Danny Ings has paid tribute to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, his former teammates, and the Liverpool medical team after completing his move to the South Coast.

In a heartfelt message from his social media account, Danny Ings thanked them all for helping him get his career back on track.

Danny Ings spent last season on loan at Southampton from Liverpool and the Saints have decided to make the move permanent after he scored seven goals and also added four assists in the Premier League to help the South Coast club escape relegation at the end of last season.

Danny Ings has gone back to the club where he was a trainee permanently.

He signed for Liverpool in 2015 from Burnley who received £7m in compensation for the player.

His time at Liverpool was blighted by injuries especially long-term knee problems.

His three-year stay at Anfield was restricted to four goals in 25 appearances before he was sent on loan for his fourth year as a Liverpool player.

He helped the Saints secure their Premier League status for another season.

Without him, Liverpool won the Champions League title to end their seven-year wait for a title since the League Cup triumph in 2012.
