Former Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs has disclosed that Spanish champions Barcelona were the greatest team he played against during his Champions League career for the club.
Manchester United told Goal about Barcelona being the best team he ever faced in South Africa.
Ryan Giggs was in South Africa on Wednesday night for the Champions League trophy tour as one of their ambassadors.
The Welsh national team manager also revealed that one of his most memorable Champions League nights was when Manchester United scored two goals in added time to beat German giants Bayern Munich 2-1 for the first trophy under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Manchester United and Giggs won the Champions League for the first time during the Sir Alex Ferguson era by beating Bayern 2-1 at the Nou Camp in the 1999 Champions League final.
Ryan Giggs won a second title during the 2008 Champions League final following the penalty shootout win over Premier League rivals Chelsea in Moscow.
The ex-Welsh international played against Barcelona during the 2009 and 2011 Champions League finals and ended up on the losing side against the Catalans who had the likes of Carles Puyol, Andreas Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, David Villa, Gerard Pique and Lionel Messi in their ranks.
