Man Utd target and Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye will move a step closer to joining French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) this summer with his medical at the club later today.

According to Sky Sports, Idrissa ‘Gana’ Gueye will undergo his PSG medical on Monday.

PSG have agreed a £27m move for the Senegalese international midfielder.

Premier League giants Manchester United made a late bid to hijack the impending move to PSG but the player had his sights set on a transfer to France.

Idrissa Gueye has spent two seasons at Everton on the back of his transfer from newly-promoted Premier League club Aston Villa.

The Senegalese midfielder left Aston Villa for Everton in the summer of 2017 shortly after the former European champions suffered relegation from the Premier League.

Aston Villa are back in the Premier League after they won the Championship playoff final via the 1-0 win over Derby County.

Idrissa Gueye was linked with both PSG and Manchester United during the winter transfer window but Everton didn’t entertain any offers for him.

The Senegalese midfielder has been busy this summer after he represented his country at the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Egypt.

Senegal were beaten 1-0 in the final by eventual champions Algeria.
