North London giants Arsenal have dropped out of the race to sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha during this summer’s transfer window.

This is according to the latest media reports emanating from the United Kingdom (UK).

Crystal Palace winger Zaha was previously the top transfer target for the Gunners in their quest to sign a new winger before the new season starts next month.

The club had a £40m bid rejected for Wilfried Zaha at the start of this month.

According to the specific report from Football London, Arsenal are out of the running to sign Wilfried Zaha with the Gunners opting for his national team colleague Nicolas Pepe.

Arsenal are closing in on a club-record move for Pepe with the North Londoners set to pay €80m for him.

The Gunners are expected to seal the deal for Pepe at the start of the new week according to BBC journalist David Ornstein.

Nicolas Pepe had a phenomenal season for Lille last season after he netted 22 goals in the French Ligue 1.

He also added 11 assists to take his goal contributions to 33 goals as the Ivorian helped Lille to seal a return to the Champions League at the end of the last league campaign.
