Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona have sent a firm transfer message to Champions League holders Liverpool over transfer target Ousmane Dembele.

Barcelona attacker Dembele has been previously linked with a move to Liverpool and other clubs in and out of the Premier League.

Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu rejected the transfer rumours over Ousmane Dembele during a press conference on Friday evening.

Barcelona unveiled Frenkie De Jong as their first major signing of the summer on Friday following his multi-million pounds move from Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam.

The Spanish champions agreed on a deal for De Jong in January but both clubs agreed for him to stay with Ajax until this summer before linking up with his new teammates.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu talked about Dembele during his presentation as the first major signing at the Nou Camp.

According to Bartomeu, Ousmane Dembele has a lot of potentials and that the French winger is better than former club player Neymar.

Recent reports had claimed that Ousmane Dembele could be sold this summer in the bid to raise funds for the signing of Neymar.

The Paris Saint Germain (PSG) player is said to be keen to return to the Nou Camp this summer after a two-year spell in France.
