French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are leading the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho according to fresh reports emanating from the Italian media.

Philippe Coutinho is expected to leave the Nou Camp this summer after failing to adapt to Barcelona and their playing style.

According to the specific report from popular Italian transfer news portal Calciomercato, PSG are in pole position to sign Philippe Coutinho if he leaves Barcelona during this transfer window.

The 27-year-old has endured a torrid time at the Nou Camp since his move from Champions League holders Liverpool at the start of last year.

Barcelona secured his transfer from Liverpool in a deal said to be around £142m including add-ons thus making him the third most expensive player in the history of world football after the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Coutinho left Liverpool in a controversial manner but the Reds were able to reinvest the transfer from his sale into the first team wisely.

Apart from PSG, Philippe Coutinho has been linked with other major European sides like Manchester United and Chelsea.

Coutinho didn’t enjoy a good season with Barcelona during the just concluded campaign but his form has seen a remarkable change in the colours of Brazil at the ongoing COPA America tournament on home soil.
