Premier League giants Manchester United are close to missing out on a summer move for Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho.
This is according to the report from Diario Sport which claimed that French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are closing in on a move for Philippe Coutinho who has not had the best of times since his move from Liverpool to Barcelona in January 2018.
Coutinho became the third most expensive transfer in the history of world football after Barcelona secured his transfer from Liverpool in a deal reported to be around £142m.
Only the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have moved for more money.
Philippe Coutinho scored five goals and also added two assists in 34 Spanish La Liga games as Barcelona won the title for a second successive season.
Apart from the interest from Manchester United and PSG, the 27-year-old has been linked with a move to other clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea.
He has been linked with a return to his former club after his controversial exit from the Reds at the start of last year.
Philippe Coutinho has already told senior club officials about his decision to leave the club during this summer’s transfer window.
