Europa League finalists Arsenal will have to fend off North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the quest to sign Saint Etienne defender William Saliba this summer.
According to the publication from the Daily Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur have joined Arsenal in the race to sign the young French defender.
Arsenal remain the favourites to sign William Saliba though rivals Tottenham Hotspur can offer him Champions League football.
It was revealed that the Gunners have made the first offer of £27m which was rejected by Saint Etienne who are said to be holding out for at least £30m for the 18-year-old centre back.
William Saliba is widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in French football.

He made 16 appearances for Saint Etienne in the last campaign after he broke into the first team.
Saliba was an important first team player for Saint Etienne who finished the season in fourth place and also narrowly missed out on qualification for Champions League football next season.
Saint Etienne are open to his sale with many conditions attached to it including the fact that the young defender must be loaned back for the new season.
He has represented France at youth levels including the u-16s, u-17s and the u-19s.
