Europa League finalists Arsenal are close to making their first signing of the summer with the imminent transfer of Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.

According to the Sunday Post, the Gunners are close to making Tierney their first signing this summer after they met the £25m asking price from his club Celtic.

It was revealed that Arsenal made a £25m bid including a £5m bid in add-ons.

Arsenal had earlier been turned down by Celtic on several occasions before the new development.

The aforementioned publication also said that the player has left the preseason camp of Celtic in Austria for the United Kingdom.

Arsenal are in need of a left-back ahead of the new season and they have made Kieran Tierney their top target for the position.

The Scottish national team player is a key member of the Celtic team and a potential transfer to Arsenal will make it a club-record exit at the club.

How transfer will exceed the £19m paid by French Ligue 1 giants Lyon for Moussa Dembele.

French striker Dembele signed for Lyon from Celtic last summer.

Arsenal have two left-backs namely Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac have not been able to convince club manager Unai Emery about their efficiency in that position and that has led to the chase for a new left-back this summer.
