Italian Serie A outfit Napoli are on the verge of snapping up the signature of Real Madrid star player, James Rodriguez, according to Corriere dello Sport.

North London outfit Arsenal have been on the case of the star player for months but they seem to lack the capability to land him.

James Rodriguez spent two seasons away from Los Blancos in German Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munch on loan and he is not expected to return back to the Spanish capital.

Reports claim that James Rodriguez is not willing to work under manager Zinedine Zidane again and will seek to move elsewhere.

Arsenal were handed the opportunity to land the playmaker but they have got a very slim summer transfer budget which is no way close to the £89 million that is required for James Rodriquez.

It is therefore reported that Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti has agreed on personal terms with the player as he has been able to convince the club to move in for the Colombia international ahead of the coming season.

This leaves Arsenal with a major blow as they have lost another opportunity to bring in a top quality player that can help them win titles in the coming season.
