French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco have reportedly joined the race to sign highly-rated Swansea City winger Daniel James during this summer’s transfer window.
This is according to the publication from the London Evening Standard via Goal which revealed that the Red Devils will have to deal with a new threat in their bid to sign the 21-year-old Welsh international player.
Earlier reports had claimed that Daniel James will join Manchester United after his Welsh club agree on a deal for the transfer, but those reports are wide off the mark.
The London Evening Standard claimed that Manchester United are still struggling to meet the £20m asking price from Welsh side Swansea City.

It was revealed that Manchester United are willing to pay £10m which represents half of the transfer fee slammed on the player by English Championship club Swansea City.
The new threat from AS Monaco might force Manchester United to pay the asking price from Swansea City.
AS Monaco are keen to boost their squad this summer to avoid a repeat of last season when they battled with relegation for the majority of the season.
On their part, Manchester United also want to improve on their disappointing sixth position from the just concluded league campaign.
