Highly rated Ajax Amsterdam defender Matthijs De Ligt has been told to sign for Premier League club this summer ahead of Spanish champions Barcelona.
According to trusted Spanish publication Sport, the Dutch international centre back has been told by his advisers to join a club like Manchester United where he can get regular first-team football.
His advisers believe that Manchester United represent a good option for him to get regular football rather than join other interested clubs like Spanish champions Barcelona or French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

Manchester United are crying out for a quality central defender like Matthijs De Ligt and the 19-year-old would definitely be a starter at the club unlike what’s obtainable with Barcelona or PSG.
At PSG, the Dutch defender will have to fight for a centre back spot with the likes of Thiago Silva and Marquinhos (Brazil) as well as Presnel Kimpembe (France).
At Barcelona, he will do battle with Gerard Pique (Spain) and the French duo of Samuel Umtiti and Christian Lenglet for a centre back spot.
€75m-rated De Ligt had a season of a lifetime during the just concluded campaign after leading Ajax Amsterdam to the domestic double for the first time in over a decade.
