West Ham United striker Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez reached the Premier League landmark of 50 goals on Friday night when he found the back of the net to give the Hammers victory over struggling London rivals Fulham.
Chicharito scored a controversial equaliser for the home side after Fulham had taken an early lead at the Olympic Stadium in their Premier League clash.
The Mexican international star appeared to divert the ball into the net with his hand in the 29th minute and that proved to be the turning point in the game.
West Ham defender Issa Diop headed his side into the lead for the first time in the game towards the end of the first half before Michail Antonio wrapped up the win on the cusp of full-time.
Javier Hernandez has scored all of the 50 Premier League goals from inside the 18-yard box.
He’s the first Mexican to reach that tally in the top flight of English football and the 106th player overall.
Chicharito scored 37 league goals for Manchester United after joining the Red Devils from Mexican club Chivas in 2010.
He won the league title in his debut season before adding another one two years later.
The Mexican attacker joined Real Madrid on loan for the 2014/15 season before leaving the club for Bayer Leverkusen the following season.
