North London giants Arsenal will have to fend off the interests of five clubs in their quest to sign FC Porto midfielder Hector Herrera at the end of his contract with the Portuguese champions this summer.
Hector Herrera has six months left on his FC Porto and he’s on course to becoming a free agent in the summer with no contract extension talks in sight.
The Mexican international star is an integral part of the FC Porto squad that has impressed a great deal in both the Portuguese top flight and the Champions League this season.
Several clubs are interested in his signature with reports claiming that Italian capital club AS Roma tried to sign him this month after offering him a four-year contract.
According to popular Italian transfer news portal, Tutto Mercato Web, Arsenal and five others want to sign Hector Herrera on a free transfer this summer.
The Gunners will have to face the threat from fellow Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers as well as two Spanish La Liga sides and two Italian Serie A clubs.
Spanish outfits Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are keen on the 70-cap Mexican international player.
Italian sides AS Roma and Inter Milan are also interested.
